Join a community conversation about the future of SDoL schools

The School District of Lancaster is inviting families and community members to participate in conversations about its updated facilities recommendations.

The gatherings provide opportunities to meet with district leaders, ask questions and offer feedback about proposed school changes and the district’s longer-term planning.

Date Location Time
October 27, 2026 Price Elementary School 5:30–7 p.m.
October 29, 2026 Bright Side Opportunities Center 9–10:30 a.m.
November 2, 2026 Price Elementary School 5:30–7 p.m.
November 11, 2026 Wheatland Middle School 5:30–7 p.m.
November 30, 2026 E.R. Martin School 5:30–7 p.m.
December 3, 2026 Wheatland Middle School 5:30–7 p.m.

The updated proposal includes closing Price Elementary for 2027–28, opening a consolidated elementary school in 2029–30 and converting Martin to a middle school as Wheatland closes in 2029–30. These changes remain recommendations, subject to applicable Board decisions and further planning.

The district also proposes establishing the Right for the Future Task Force to help identify community priorities for future facilities investments.

School changes raise questions about students’ daily routines, their learning environments and their connections within a school community. These conversations provide a place to bring those questions into the planning process.

Review The Plan before attending to learn more about the recommendations. Questions can also be submitted through Ask Us.
